1. Data Controller and general principles

We, Valeroo GmbH, Südliche Münchner Str. 60, 82031 Grünwald, District Muenchen as operator of the websites https://www.valeroo.com or https://www.valeroo.de (hereinafter referred to as “Website”) using our B2B Platform (hereinafter referred to as “Platform”), are the data controller as defined in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) for the personal data of our website users and the users of our platform ("You”).

Your trust and protection of your privacy is of special concern to us. Therefore, we take the protection and security of your personal data very seriously. Your personal data is collected, processed and used exclusively in compliance with the provisions of data protection law, in particular the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

In the following paragraphs, we would like to inform you within our information duties in detail about what kind of data is collected when you visit our website, use our platform, use other services and offers on our platform and how these are processed or used by us. Furthermore, we would like to inform you about additional protective measures taken by us in technical and organizational terms.

2. Collection and use of your personal data

Personal data refers to all information regarding the personal and factual circumstances of a particular or identifiable natural person. Your personal data therefore includes all the data that can be attributed to your person, such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address.

We collect and use your personal data to enable you to use our platform, as well as other services and offers provided by us on our platform. Personal data will only be collected, processed and used by us if you voluntarily share the relevant data for the actual data collection and/or use, a legal regulation allows the collection and/or use of the specific data collection or you have given your prior express consent for a specific data collection and/or use.

A) Informational use of our website

If you use our website without our services, for example for your information, it is not necessary for you to provide your personal data.

We collect and use only the data that your Internet browser automatically transmits, such as accessed pages, access status, type of Internet browser you are using, language and version of the browser software, operating system and its interface, IP address of the querying computer and date and time of the visit of our website.

This data is collected by us in an anonymous form to enable you to use our website, for statistical purposes and to improve our offer through the website. This data is not linked to personal data of a particular natural person.

B) Using the offers

If you wish to use the services offered on our website, such as our platform, contact us and/or order a newsletter, you are required to provide us with your personal data. In particular, the following are the purposes for which we collect and use your personal data:

Using the platform: When you use our platform, we store your data necessary for contract fulfilment.

If you wish to use our platform, you have to register as a buyer or supplier for your company by giving your first and last name, information about your company (company, product group (e.g. plastic), category (e.g. injection moulding), e-mail address, telephone number, postal code, city, state, country), your position in the company as well as a self-chosen password. We use the double-opt-in procedure for registration, which means that your registration is not finalized until you have previously confirmed your registration by clicking on the link in the confirmation e-mail sent to you for this purpose. If you do not confirm immediately, your registration will be automatically deleted from our database.

If you use the services or features of our platform which are paid for, we also store the details of the payment method, in addition to the data required for completing the contract.

We also save the data provided or stored by you voluntarily for the duration of your use of the platform, unless you delete it first.

You can manage and change all details in the protected profile area.

Profile area: In setting-up your profile, information such as first and last name, e-mail address, company information (e.g. name, sector, category, sub-category, material, city, state, federal state in which the registered office of the company is located), and position in the company are used within the registration process in order to manage your profile and to carry out associated functions, such as changing your password, editing your user data, newsletter management (see also “Newsletter” below), managing your profile, as well as the paid-for services and functionalities (see “Using the platform” above).

Contact/Feedback: If you contact us, for example, in order to send us a message, a query or to provide your feedback, the collection, processing and use of your voluntarily communicated contact data (e.g name, e-mail address) will be used to answer your query and/or suggestions using the contact form, by e-mail or by other means.

Valeroo Newsletter: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will need at least your e-mail address to which the newsletter is to be sent, in addition to your declaration of consent. The wording of the declaration of consent for the sending of newsletters is as follows:

“I would like to be regularly informed by Valeroo about new developments and offers. This service is free of charge and can be revoked by me at any time with effect for the future.“

Any further details provided by you will only be used to address you personally and to personalize the contents of the newsletter and to clarify any questions regarding the e-mail address. We will send you the newsletter only if you have previously confirmed your registration using the confirmation e-mail sent to you for this purpose by clicking on the link contained therein. Thereby, we ensure that only you yourself have registered as the holder of the specified e-mail address for the newsletter. Your confirmation in this regard must be done promptly upon receipt of the confirmation e-mail, otherwise your newsletter registration will be automatically deleted from our database. You can unsubscribe (revocation) from our newsletter at any time. The revocation can be done from your profile area by sending a corresponding message to service@valeroo.de or by clicking on the hyperlink at the end of each newsletter.

The personal data collected for the aforementioned purposes will be used exclusively within the context of its purpose or to the extent that this is necessary to safeguard our legitimate business interests. A transfer of your personal data to a third party takes place if and insofar as this is necessary within the framework of the above-mentioned purposes, e.g. to a payment service provider and/or a credit institution. Furthermore, your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent, unless legal or official regulations oblige us to do so.

3. Cookies

We use cookies for our website. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser by our web server as part of your visit to our website and are stored by the latter on your computer for future retrieval.

The cookies on your computer are used by us, over and above the usage process, to make our website more user-friendly to more closely match our services and content to our users and to promote trust and security.

We do not collect or store personal data in cookies in this context. We also do not use any techniques that link user data to information generated by cookies.

4. Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses the so-called "cookies", text files which are stored on your computer and which allow an analysis of your usage of the website. The information about your website usage (including your IP address) generated by the cookie is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in the case of the activation of the IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within EU Member States or in other states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to the use of the website and the Internet with respect to the website operator.

The IP address provided by Google Analytics from your Internet browser will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to fully utilize all the functions of this website.

We would like to point out that Google Analytics is used on this website with the extension "_anonymizeIp ()" and only your truncated IP address is forwarded in order to rule out a direct personal relationship.

In addition, you can prevent Google from tracking the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address), as well as the processing of this data by Google at any time for the future, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

5. Third party content

Third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, Google Maps, RSS feeds, or Google Presentation of other websites, is included in our website. The prerequisite is that providers of this content receive the IP address of the users in order to send the content to the respective browser of the user. We strive to use only that content whose providers use the IP address exclusively for the delivery of the content itself. However, we do not have any influence on the respective providers use of the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes.

6. Data security

We use technical and organizational security measures to protect incoming or collected personal data, in particular against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or against the attack by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

Our website is encrypted using SSL technology to prevent access by unauthorized third parties.

7. Your rights

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that you can revoke any consent granted to us any time with future effect.

Furthermore, you have the right under statutory law to request information about the stored personal data concerning you without additional charges. Under statutory law, you also have the right to request the deletion, blocking or correction of this data.
